On April 19, 2012, The Neighborhood Center, Inc. was the proud recipient of a very special donation. Amanda Grace Lindsay’s wish for her 10th birthday was to help children, their families and animals. Instead of receiving gifts for herself, she collected donations of shoes and pet supplies. “It’s good to help people that don’t always have all they need and animals too, if everyone would just give a little or help a little, it makes a big difference, kid’s are always happy with new shoes!” Amanda collected 103 pairs of shoes as well as various items for the local humane society. The shoes will be distributed through a number of Neighborhood Center programs. She wishes to thank all her friends, classmates at Deerfield Elementary School and family for all their help in making her birthday wish come true. Thank you Amanda for being such a generous young lady and for thinking of the children and families we serve at the Neighborhood Center.
